River Vltava – centre of Cesky Krumlov


  • 282,6 river kilometre – approximately 120 metres above the weir called “U Jelení lávky” (or “Pod zámkem” “Under castle”)


  • 282,4 river kilometre – approximately 80 metres below the weir called “U Jelení lávky” (or “Pod zámkem”)

As soon as the capacity of each category is full, no further registration will be possible. The division into quarterfinal groups will be drawn. The organizer will divide registered competitors according to the categories and will draw lots. Drawing of the lots will be done on Wednesday 10th October at 8 p.m. at SK Vltava Cesky Krumlov.

Description of categories:

  • K1 M  – men – any kayak including surf ski
  • K1 W – women – any kayak including surf ski
  • C1 – downriver canoe, flat water canoe, OC1
  • SUP W – PADDLEBOARD – women


Medal awarded winners of all categories will receive a voucher for dinner in selected restaurants of Cesky Krumlov:

Time schedule:

Friday, October 12th, 2018

  • 02:30 p.m. – 04:00 p.m.   Picking up of the bibs in the restaurant of Eggenberg brewery (the same place as for Krumlovsky Marathon), parking place P2
  • 11:00 a.m. – 04:30 p.m.   Possibility of training on the river
  • 05:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.   Quarterfinal, semi-final, final

  • 05:35 p.m.   Award ceremony of Cesky Krumlov Sprint

Further info:

  • the bibs are different for the sprint and for the marathon
  • deposit for each bib is  200 CZK; deposit will be returned at the finish on return of the bib
  • it is the possible to race in a different category in Friday’s sprint and in a different category in Saturday’s marathon (however, it is necessary to pay a bib deposit for both categories)
  • Sprint is a contact race. However, you are not allowed to strike other competitor’s body or boat with your paddle.
  • the start will be judged by a referee who has the right to disqualify the competitors
  • the results will be continuously posted in the start and finish area and also in the Eggenberg restaurant
  • the starting interval for the sprint is 2 minutes
  • 4 boats start at the same time from the starting dock
  • the flow in the Vltava River will be about 20 m³/s
  • life jacket and helmets are obligatory
  • it is possible to paddle up the sprint course against the flow and carry the boats around the weir on the left river bank or to carry the boats through the town
  • sprint competitors are recommended to park their cars in the parking place P1
