BASIC INFO about 10th INTERNATIONAL CESKY KRUMLOV RIVER MARATHON

LOCATION: The Vltava River
– Vyssi Brod / Rozmberk nad Vltavou / Cesky Krumlov

START: !!! a mass start at 11 a.m. !!!

I. in Vyšší Brod (36km) under dam

• 11:00 - the start for K2 is from the 1^st line
• 11:05 - the start for K1 is from the 2^nd line
• 11:10 - the start for all other boats from 3^rd line

II. in Rožmberk nad Vltavou (26km)

• approx 11:15 - the start for dragon boats is from 1^st line,
  
• approx 11:20 - the start for punts ( P5M, P5W ) and C5 - C9 from the 2^nd line
• approx 11:20 - the start for rafts (R4M, R4W) from the 3^rd line
  
• approx 11:20 - the start for SUP (PADDLEBOARD) from 4^th line

FINISH: Cesky Krumlov – by the Lazebnicky bridge

• parking is possible at parking P2. ENTRING Naplavka (FINISH AREA) is FORBITTEN (parking tickets for P2 you can receive during Friday presentation)
• refreshments such a soup, fruit, vegetable, biscuits, tea are provided free of charge to all participants this year as well

• 26km
• WWI-II
• 7 weirs – boats can be taken across  all weirs
• one refreshment station and MANDAROTY OVERRUN at camp "Na Pískárne"

THE OVERRUN:

• this overrun is placed at campsite "Na Pískárně" where the refreshment station is placed as well. The start of MINI Krumlovsky Marathon is here as well this year!
• This overrun is on the left bank of the river
• the overrun is clearly marked
• the overrun is mandatory for all competitors - all of them must get out of their boat and carry or pull the boat via a corridor which is approximately 150m long
• not passing this part means disqualification (the overrun is under the supervision of the organizers)
• We will keep checking on you during the race if you keep all rules regarding mandatory equipment – each participant must have lifejacket, helmet on during whole race. No fulfillment of those obligations will cause disqualification of boat.   
  

PRICING:

• Entry fee depends on the date when your registration is send (doesn’t depend on the day when it is paid)
• Entry fee is paid in cash (CZK or EUR) at the time of presentation (on Friday 12th of October or on Saturday in the morning before start).
  
• We have a elastic starting numbers. You will be ask for advance payment at the time of presentation and this payment is 200CZK or 10 EUR. This payment will be given to you back at the time of returning your starting number at the brewery garden

• K1 MWW (wild water men)- downriver and flat water kayaks, sea kayaks, touring kayaks, sit on top kayaks
• K1 M juniors – any type of kayak
• K1 M veterans – any type of kayak
• K1 W seniors - downriver kayaks, sea kayaks, touring kayaks, sit on top kayaks
• K1 W juniors – any type of kayak
• K2 M- any type of kayak including flat water kayak
• K2 W - any type of kayak including flat water kayak
• K2 mix - any type of kayak including flat water kayak
• C1 seniors
• C1 juniors
• C2 seniors – down river double canoe of flat water double canoe
• C2 veterans – any type of double canoe even touring one
• C2 mix - any type of double canoe even touring one
• C2 tourists – touring canoe

- age group JUNIOR is up to age of 18 (including paddlers born in 1994 and younger)
- age group VETERAN is from age of 35 (including paddlers born in 1977 and older)
- K1 wild water = downriver boats, sea kayaks, plastic kayaks etc.

- K2 – double kayaks for flat water, sea kayaks, touring double kayaks
- C2 men = downriver double canoe, flat water double canoe
- C2 tourists - the category for touring canoes commercially available up to 6 m in length.   The competitors are two men. Accessories as spray skirt, protectors, drink system is allowed.
- C2 MIX = for all kind of canoes. The crew must be mixed (male and female).
- RAFT tourists, this category is for non-registered crews, and includes 3 – 6 members of paddlers, who are not registered in SVoCR (for example crews of firefighters, police, companies etc.)

-C2 veterants – both competitors must be in age of veterans that means born in year 1977 or sooner and their both is double canoe (downriver, touring etc.)

-C3 a C4 three or four men crew (mix is allowed) any type of canoe is allowed

-C9 - each canoe can have 5 – 9 person  

-RAFT non registered – each raft can have 3 – 6 person, non of the member can not be member of SvoČR or ČSK. Any type of raft is allowed.
- RAFT men, this category is for registered competitors (registered in ČSK, SvoČR and in other national organizations, members of national teams) 
- PUNT – five member crew

In case that you can not decide in which category you belong to referee at the start will decide.

REGISTRATION

• Highly recommended registration by Sunday, September 30th, 2012 (including)
• The fee will be increased for the competitors and crews who register between 8th and 12th October 2012
• the latest time for registration is on Saturday, October 13^th  at 10 a.m.

RACE KITS may be PICKED UP:

• on Friday, October 12^th  from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. - in the restaurant of the Eggenberg brewery in Cesky Krumlov (next to parking area P2).
• on Saturday, October 13^th from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. – inside the campsite „Pod hrází“ in Vyšší Brod for all kayaks and canoe categories (C4, C3 included)
• on Saturday, October 13^th from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. – the area of the soccer field (across the Vltava river from a petrol station) in Rozmberk nad Vltavou for raft and punt crews.  
• !!!Friday presentation is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

PRIZES and CLOSING CEREMONY:

• Award ceremony will be in the brewery garden - starting at 6 p.m., followed by a party and live concert
• Prized will be first three in each category

TRANSPORT:
We offer transport of competitors to the start of the race. The departure of the bus will be on Saturday 13th of October at 8:00 from the parking lot P2 in Český Krumlov. It will take competitors with their equipment (including boats) to the starting place in Rožmberk nad Vltavou and Vyšší Brod.
Please be at the departure point at 7:00 when we start to attach the boats to the trailer.
Do NOT forget to bring your own straps to attach your boat!
We are going to rope up many boats so it will probably take long time.
The bus of INGETOUR company will also go to Rožmberk nad Vltavou and Vyšší Brod after the race at 16:00 from the same place as in the morning (parking lot P2 in Český Krumlov).
Transport is free.
The bus capacity is 60 seats and because of this it is necessary to book the seat in the following form HERE .

FURTHER INFORMATION:

• boats for flat water must have a RIVER TRAILING RUDDER
• Lifejackets and helmets are mandatory!!
• Electrical pumps are prohibited, you can use manual (handy or foot) pump only
• Any type of boat can be used – downriver boats, slalom boats, plastic boats, flat water boats, inflatable boats etc.
• Cut Off Time – 4:30 p.m. (time will not be measured after this time)
• If needed, boats can be taken across at all weirs. It is your choice!
• There is MANDATORY over run at the campsite “Na Piskarne”
• Refreshment station is available at the campsite „Na piskarne“ – tea, biscuits, fruit etc.
• No alcohol is permitted before and during competition.
• Competitors participate at their own risk and must be able to swim. Organizer is not responsible for accidents or material damage, which may occur during the race.
• There is a higher flow rate during the race – approximately 20 m 3 /sec.
• There will be a ceremony afterwards – all age categories (first, second and third place) will be awarded. This will be followed by a party.
