BASIC INFO about 6th INTERNATIONAL CESKY KRUMLOV RIVER MARATHON
DATE: Saturday October 11th, 2008
LOCATION: The Vltava River
– Vyssí Brod / Rozmberk nad Vltavou / Cesky Krumlov
START: !!! a group start at 11 a.m. !!!
I. in Vyšší Brod (36km)
- the start for all categories except rafts and punts
II. in Rožmberk nad Vltavou (26km)
- the start for R4M, R4W, P5M, P5W (punts)
FINISH: Cesky Krumlov – by the Lazebnicky bridge
- parking is possible at Naplavka street on the left shore (you can go through parking lot P2)
- refreshments such a soup, fruit, vegetable, biscuits, tea are provided free of charge to all participants
- the finishing ceremony will be in the brewery gardens
- prize money and a lot of other prices

THE OVERRUN:
- this run is placed at camping site "Na Pískárně" where the refreshment station is placed as well
- it is on the left bank
- the overrun is clearly marked
- the overrun is mandatory for all competitors - all of them must get out of their boat and carry or pull the boat via a corridor which is approximately 150m long
- not passing this part means disqualification (the overrun is under the supervision of the organizers)

- K1 wild water = downriver boats, seakayaks, plastic kayaks etc.
- K1 flat water = flat water boats
- C2 men = downriver double canoe, flat water double canoe
- C2 tourists is the category for tourist´s canoes. The competitors are two men on tourist´s canoes.
- C2 MIX = for all kind of canoes. The crew must be mixed (male and female).
- RAFT tourists, this category is for non-registered crews, and includes 3 – 6 members of paddlers, who are not registered in SVoCR (for example crews of firefighters, police, companies etc.)
- RAFT men, this category is for registered competitors (registered in ČSK, SvoČR and in other national organizations, members of national teams)
- RAFT women, this category is for all women started on raft
- PUNT – five member crew
REGISTRATION

- the competitors and crews who register between 6th and 11th October, 2008, will have the fee increaesed
- the latest registration is on Saturday, 11th of October at 10 a.m.
RACE KITS may be PICKED UP:
- on Friday October 10 from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. - in the restaurant of the Eggenberg brewery in Cesky Krumlov (next to parking area P2). Including program: music, discussion, picture presentation from previous years and fun!
- on Saturday October 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. - the area of the camping site „Pod hrází“ in Vyšší Brod for all kayaks and canoe categories (C4, C3 included)
- on Saturday October 11 from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. – the area of the football field (across the Vltava river from a petrol station) in Rozmberk nad Vltavou for all raft and punt crews. Look for organizer´s direction signs.
- !!!Friday presentation is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!
PRIZES and CLOSING CEREMONY:
- the finishing ceremony will be in the brewery gardens - starting at 6 p.m., followed by a party and live concert
- PRIZE MONEY // a nice prizes for rirst three in each category // drawing lots of others prizes
EUROPEAN CANOE & KAYAK MARATHON TOUR 2008:
- Marathon in Cesky Krumlov is included in the second annual of European Canoe & Kayak Marathon Tour, which is includes the marathon in Italy and in France

FURTHER INFORMATION:
- boats for flat water must have a RIVER TRAILING RUDDER
- Lifejackets and helmets are mandatory!!
- Electrical pumps are prohibited, you can use manual (handy or foot) pump only
- Any type of boat can be used – downriver boats, slalom boats, plastic boats, flatwater boats, inflatable boats etc.
- Cut Off Time – 4:30 p.m. (time will not be measured after this time)
- If needed, boats can be taken across at all weirs. It is your choice!
- Refreshment station is available at the campsite „Na pískárne“ – tea, biscuits, fruit etc.
- No alcohol is permitted before and during competition.
- Competitors participate at their own risk and must be able to swim. Organizer is not responsible for accidents or material damage, which may occur during the race.
- There is a higher flow rate during the race – approximately 20 m 3 /sec.
- There will be a ceremony afterwards – all age categories (first, second and third place) will be awarded. This will be followed by a party.
