EUROPEAN CANOE & KAYAK MARATHON TOUR 2007

1st RACE

Sunday September 30th, 2007 – GERMANY – ISAR river
- Start at 10 a.m. in Bad Tölz (look for the organiser's direction signs)
- Finish at the bridge "Wolfratshausen"
- Length 26 km
- Fee €25 per person
2nd RACE

Saturday October 13th, 2007 – CZECH REPUBLIC – VLTAVA river
- Start at 11 a.m. in Vyšší Brod
- Finish in the downtown of Český Krumlov
- Length 36 km, difficulty WW I-II, 9 weirs
- Fee is 250 CZK per person (800 CZK per crew of C4, raft and punt)
3rd RACE

Sunday October 21st, 2007 – ITALY – ADIGE river
* final event closing ceremony of European Marathon Tour encluded *
- Start at 10.30 a.m. in Borghetto d’Avio
- Finish in Pescantina town
- Fee is €25 per person
- RACE RULES -
The European Canoe & Kayak Marathon Tour includes the German marathon on the River Isar (Sunday 30.09.2007), the Cesky Krumlov marathon (Saturday 13.10.2007 and the Italian marathon on the River Adige (Sunday 21.10. 2007). The race times of the three events, for each competitor, will be added together to compete for the overall MONEY PRIZE OF € 9.000.
PRIZES
- THE TOTAL MONEY PRIZE OF € 9.000 will be shared between the following six categories:
K1 MWW (wild water men)
K1 MFW (flat water men)
K1 women
K2 men
C1 men
C2 men
The first 3 competitors of each category will be awarded as follows:
1st classified € 800
2st classified € 500
3st classified € 200
FEES DISCOUNT
• Those who are competing in all three competitions will receive a discount of 6 euro which will be deducted from the fee for the third race which is in Italy on the river Adige on Sunday 21st October 2007.
FURTHER INFORMATION:
- boats for flat water must have a RIVER TRAILING RUDDER
- Lifejackets and helmets are mandatory!!
- Electrical pumps are prohibited, you can use manual (handy or foot) pump only
- Any type of boat can be used – downriver boats, slalom boats, plastic boats, flatwater boats, inflatable boats etc.
- Cut Off Time – 4:30 p.m. (time will not be measured after this time)
- If needed, boats can be taken across at all weirs. It is your choice!
- No alcohol is permitted before and during competition.
- Competitors participate at their own risk and must be able to swim. Organizer is not responsible for accidents or material damage, which may occur during the race.
